Our Program

What's Nori?

Nori is a platform that connects patients seeking Accutane® (Isotretinoin) with health care providers to help them make a treatment plan and clear acne for good. Our program is completely virtual, meaning you can access our services anywhere in the United States and will be meeting with our team online.

What's included in a Nori membership?

Nori is a monthly membership that includes the cost of signing up for iPLEDGE, monthly visits, Accutane® (Isotretinoin) prescription delivered to your home, and monthly pregnancy tests (if required). The only additional cost for your acne care will be labs that can be done at a lab of your choice - for some people this cost may be covered by insurance.

Do you prescribe low-dose Accutane® (Isotretinoin)?

Yes, we offer low-doses of Isotretinoin for people who have had side effects at higher doses or for those with more mild acne, who may achieve excellent results on a reduced dose.

Accutane®

What is Accutane® (Isotretinoin)?

Accutane® (Isotretinoin), is an oral retinoid medication. Approved by the FDA for over 40 years, it is recognized as the market's most effective treatment for acne. Isotretinoin is a pill you take daily over a 5-6 month period to achieve permanent and significant reduction of acne symptoms, surpassing other treatments in effectiveness.

This medication is particularly recommended for those with severe or chronic acne that has not improved with other treatments, as well as for individuals whose acne leads to scarring or psychological distress.

How long does Accutane® (Isotretinoin) take to work?

Most people take Accutane® (Isotretinoin) for 5-6 months. Typically patients get the best, long lasting results after they reach a weight-based goal cumulative dose and have had a month without new breakouts. The best dose and decision of when to stop can be discussed with your provider as everyone is unique. For example if you choose to take a much lower dose for mild acne, you may stay on the medication for longer.

What is iPledge?

iPledge is the program implemented by the FDA to oversee the administration of Accutane® treatments across the United States. Due to the risk of birth defects caused by Accutane® in unborn children, patients capable of becoming pregnant are required to commit to either celibacy or the use of two forms of birth control during their treatment. Every individual on Accutane® or Isotretinoin will be registered with iPledge and assigned an iPledge ID. Nori providers will help you through this process.

The program mandates that patients who could conceive must answer detailed monthly questions at www.ipledgeprogram.com to be eligible to receive their medication. This questionnaire must be completed each month, and medication must be collected within 7 days of authorization (or for those receiving it by mail, the questionnaire should be completed promptly within 7 days to give the pharmacy enough time to process the order). Nori will ensure you have monthly visits that are compliant with iPLEDGE so you don’t miss any doses and continue to take Isotretinoin safely.

What are the side effects of Accutane® (Isotretinoin)?

Accutane® (Isotretinoin) is generally safe but there are some common mild side effects as well as more serious but very rare risks of taking Accutane® (Isotretinoin). Nori providers will review your intake form and labs that screen for people who may be at high risk for side effects.

Common mild side effects that most people experience while taking a standard dose of Accutane® (Isotretinoin) include chapped lips and dry skin. Your provider will recommend a good moisturizer to help while you're on Accutane® (Isotretinoin).

What are the lab requirements?

Most people will need to get labs once before starting Accutane® (Isotretinoin) to make sure your liver and lipids levels are normal. The same labs will be repeated 2 months after starting treatment. Your provider will inform you of any abnormal labs which may indicate a need for closer monitoring, a lower dose or stopping Accutane® (Isotretinoin).

What's the difference between low and standard
dose pricing

Low dose Accutane is 10 to 20mg daily, usually taken over a longer period of time (longer than 6 months). A low dose Accutane Nori membership is $100 monthly which includes the cost of everything except labs. Low dose Accutane would likely work best for someone with mild to moderate acne or to help minimize side effects.

Standard dose Accutane is determined based on your weight, it typically ranges from 40 to 80mg daily and is taken for 5 to 6 months. A standard dose Accutane Nori membership is $150 monthly which includes the cost of everything except labs. Standard dose would likely work best for someone with moderate to severe acne or for people who want to complete treatment and clear acne faster.
